We all know the feeling. The weight of the week, the constant buzz of "busy," the emotional baggage we somehow accumulate – it can all start to feel overwhelming. That's why I've built a little ritual into my week: a soul declutter.
Every Monday and Thursday at 1:30 PM, my phone reminds me: time to shed the clutter. Time to let go of the hurry, the stress, and the emotional weight, especially the bits that aren't even mine. (Fellow empaths, you feel me, right?)
It's a necessary practice, a way to create space for something deeper. It's about clearing the mental noise of daily tasks and reconnecting with what truly matters. It's about letting go of the past so I can fully embrace the present, and make room for what God has in store.
And honestly? It works.
Want to join me? Let's declutter together in three key areas:
1. Physical Space: A Small Act, Big Impact
It might seem simple, but our physical surroundings reflect our inner state.
Try this: Throw away 3 things you no longer need and put 3 things back where they belong. You'll be surprised how much lighter you feel.
2. Mental Space: Free Your Mind with Freewriting
Our minds are constantly bombarded with information.
Try this: Grab a pen and paper (if you can, ditch the keyboard for the liberating feel of freehand writing) and freewrite for 3 pages. Don't edit, don't judge, just let it flow. Get it out of your head and onto the page.
3. Emotional Space: Name Your Feelings, Release Their Grip
We often carry emotions we can't even identify.
Try this: Use an "Emotion Wheel" (or any tool that helps you name emotions) and write down three emotions you've felt in the last 3 minutes, last hour, and last day. This simple act of naming can bring clarity and release.
This practice of daily (or, in my case, twice-weekly) clearing does wonders for the soul. It's a way to create space for peace, clarity, and connection.
Give it a try!
I'd love to hear about your experience. How did it make you feel? What did you discover? Join my email list and share your thoughts. Let's create a community of soul 'declutterers' together.
